I think that Keren's blog is really strong. There are many reasons of why I think this. I will be discussing the post titled "Social Action- The Girl who fell From the Sky" posted on Saturday, December 7th, 2013
I find Keren's post on the book The Girl Who Fell From The Sky very interesting. I have only read the first chapter of this book, because I quickly abandoned it. From what I read from the first chapter, I do agree with Keren aboout what she thinks the social injustice problems are in the book. Already in the first chapter, there is racism, discrimination, being the sole survivor, and bullying, as described in her blog post.
Reading Keren's blog post makes me want to continue reading this book. This is so because I tend to read books that are about discrimination, mostly because that is what I prefer to read. In addition, this book is quite unique. It is unique because in most books about race discrimination, the main character is black, with both parents being black. In The Girl Who Fell From The Sky, the girl is not black from both parents. She is mixed, but lives in a Black household.
Keren's blog post makes me think about life. It makes me think about how life is really unfair, and not in that cliche, stubborn, complaining type of way. It really is unfair to some people. It's not unfair because your older sibling gets more freedom than you; it's unfair because people discriminate people. The reason they discriminate people is because of what they look like (for example, their race, religion, skin color, etc.).
Overall, this blog post written by Keren is very interesting. It makes me want to finish the book that I have already abandoned, and it makes me really think about the real world (life)!
